Conventional chemical sunscreens contain oxybenzone, octinoxate, homosalate, and other UV filters that are absorbed through the skin and detected in blood, urine, and breast milk. Mineral sunscreens (zinc oxide, titanium dioxide) are not absorbed through the skin.
