PVC / Phthalates (DEHP, DINP)
PVC cling wrap contains phthalate plasticizers that leach into fatty foods on contact. DEHP is classified as a probable human carcinogen and potent endocrine disruptor linked to reduced testosterone, early puberty, and infertility.
LDPE additives
LDPE wrap contains antioxidants and slip agents that migrate into food. While less toxic than PVC, cumulative exposure contributes to overall plastic chemical body burden.
