Conventional chemical sunscreens contain oxybenzone, octinoxate, homosalate, and other UV filters that are absorbed through the skin and detected in blood, urine, and breast milk. The FDA has found that oxybenzone reaches blood concentrations 277 times higher than the safety threshold after a single day of use. Mineral sunscreens (zinc oxide, titanium dioxide) are not absorbed through the skin.
Why We Recommend This Product
Badger's mineral sunscreen uses non-nano zinc oxide as the only active ingredient — zinc oxide sits on top of the skin and is not absorbed. No oxybenzone, no octinoxate, no homosalate. USDA Certified Organic. The gold standard for safe sunscreen.
